There have been many diaries here in the last few days addressing Israel. What are we to do about Israel, etc. One diary went so far as to say that we should pack all the Jews out of Israel, transport them to the US or Canada or other willing countries, and then turn the land back over to the "rightful" inhabitants. As if there is any such thing as a rightful inhabitant given how the history of the world as far as I know it has been based on one people conquering another.
IMO, before we can decide our foreign policy towards Israel, or how we should handle the Palestinian issue, or what sort of "road map" we should endorse, we have to answer one much more significant question.
